Cubs, Rangers Complete Garza Trade

The Rangers have announced that to complete the Graza trade they will be sending over RHP Neil Ramirez. Ramirez, 24, was taken in the 1st round (44 overall) by the Rangers in the 2007 amateur draft. He owns a 4.40 career ERA across 6 minor league season in the Rangers farm system. This year in double-A Frisco hes pitched to a 3.73 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and 127 SO in 21 GS through 103 innings. He ranked 14th in the Rangers top 20 prospects and now is 13th in the Cubs top 20 according to John Mayo. Ramirez has the ceiling to be a mid of the rotation starter but is more viewed now as a back end bullpen guy. He has an above average fastball and slider but does struggle with his command from time to time. This is a good pickup for Theo and Jed who continue to stock the Cubs farm system with intriguing arms.
